Thursday

It's just a Thursday, just like any other day. But today was a good day. I had lunch with one of my bestest friends, Ms Sandy. I love going to lunch with her. We laugh, talk about husbands, friends, people at the next table, people we used to know, and our kids of course, etc... It doesn't matter if we talked yesterday or haven't seen each other in months, we always pick up where we left off.

Today was lunch at Al Biernet's on Oak Lawn. Our last visit there was about 10 years ago and wasn't the best of experiences, (a funny story for another time), today was better. Wine, a bowl of tortilla soup, really good - I should have stopped there. Another glass of wine and we shared a spinich salad and an Al's Salad. I was stuffed but Sandy had to tell our waitress (she was excellant) that we were celebrating my birthday, (it was last week) so a molten chocolate cake was brought out with a candle. It was to die for. yummy. Happy Birthday to me! Made up for no birthday cake from anyone last week.... another story there as well.....

Went back to work and crunched numbers for what seemed like hours on a special project that will probably either raise the hackles of the powers that be or fall on deaf ears... who knows.

Then,

met my fairly new friend Sherri for a drink at Esparza's in Grapevine. Grapevine is so cool. Lots of people walking around, very friendly atmosphere. We sat on the patio, directly under a mister I might add since when I got there my truck thermometer said it was 99 degrees!!! Sherri loves the outdoors and it really wasn't that bad. 2 1/2 margaritas made it better. We had a good visit and plan on doing it more often.

I need to get back in the habit of planning these things. it used to be my role, the happy hour/party/get together planner. Somewhere along the way I dropped that role, along with a few other things that made up Lisa's self. If you don't understand that it really doesn't matter.

Anyway. a good Thursday and besides that - Tomorrow's Friday which is even better.

Girl, next time you and Sandy have lunch at Al's, you'd better call me! I work right across the street!
