Spontaneity is a Wonderful Part of being Grown up.

Spontaneity

We had so much fun and relaxed so much this past weekend.  I have a friend that has a lakehouse at Richland Chambers lake just outside Corsicana, TX.  They are there every weekend in the summer but after labor day don't use it much at all.

On the other hand, me - I'm not so much into sun and heat.  I love, love being on a lake but hate the heat. So, long story short; Ray and I used the house this weekend to veg out.  We got there Saturday and fished a few hours.... no nibbles, no bites but a lot of fun.  Now this isn't a roughing it house.  3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths plus a bonus room over the garage... not so bad. I'm thinking we'll be seeing a lot of this place this year.  An hour and 45 minutes south... not so bad.

Till...... Saturday about 4:30 the wind started, then the rain, then the tornado warnings.... holy cow... it was crazy. It got so bad, Ray came in from the sunroom with cushions off the couch.... that is not normal. We both love watching storms but this was a little crazy.

The video is  after the worst past when Ray went out to check and see if he had any fishing poles left o the dock.   If it doesn't load I'll keep working on it.
The next night an F2 hit just east of where we were and did quite a bit of damage.

Storm passed, we had some awesome steaks, played some scrabble and just relaxed.  I love being empty nesters.  Our kids are grown and can take care of themselves. Our dog is pretty much self sufficient.  We can come and go as we please.

50 ain't so bad.

I love being spontaneous.  I love that we can. I love being on a lake! I was meant to retire on the water.  Not at the beach but on a lake.  It's part of being a Moore. I'll move to the lake and open a diner.

sounds like a plan to me!  I'm liking life these days.
